When did you attend The Ryleys School?

2003-2013.

Where did you go after The Ryleys?

The Manchester Grammar School followed by The University of Leeds.

What is your favourite memory of your time at The Ryleys School?

Becoming Head Boy was a huge privilege for me, allowing me to give back to the school that gave me such a great education full of experiences. The role allowed me to have a close relationship with the Head Teacher at the time, increasing my responsibilities such as helping staff at events or showing prospective pupils and parents around the school.

Do you keep in touch with friends you made during your time at the Ryleys?

Yes absolutely. A lot of my present day closest friends were with me at The Ryleys.

A short career summary

I am currently in my final year of university studying BSc Geography. Last year as part of my degree, I undertook a placement year working for local authority in the pandemic, allowing me to gain valuable work experience. After completing my degree, I hope to enrol on a graduate commercial surveyor scheme in Manchester to pursue a career in commercial property.

What advice would you have for pupils / parents considering The Ryleys School?

The Ryleys offers an extremely well-rounded education and there is something for every pupil. From my experience, The Ryleys allows development of skills that some pupils don’t even know they have at such a young age, whether that be academics, sports or music.

I believe The Ryleys provides pupils with an excellent foundation for future studies and beyond through a balance of pursuing outstanding academics through engaging teaching as well as ensuring each child enjoys school outside the classroom.
