From The Head - Friday 6th September 2024

Julia Langford, Headteacher of The Ryleys School, a private school in Alderley Edge, Cheshire

It has been a lovely start to the new academic year and the Friday sunshine was a welcome bonus!

The children have settled in beautifully and are adapting to the new routines and expectations of school life. For some it takes a little longer than others to get into the swing of things and first week wobbles are very normal, so don't worry if this applies to your child!

For the main school, the full extra-curricular club programme commences on Monday. We have a packed programme of nearly 40 clubs and we always encourage all children to sign up and try something new - it is great for confidence and personal development. Also, our weekly awards assemblies will commence next Friday. All parents are welcome and invited to join us at 8.30am in the Centenary Hall every Friday to celebrate the children's achievements.

For Early Years, there is a meeting for parents new to the school on Friday 13th to provide information about the setting, the staff and the provision at 8.45am in the flexi-hall. Please come along for a chat and a coffee.

Hopefully, you all have the Welcome Back BBQ in your diaries for next Friday as well! It's a super social occasion to meet the school community and experience the warmth and friendliness of The Ryleys School.

There is so much to look forward to and enjoy this year - we are excited to share it all with you.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Julia Langford.
