From The Head - Friday 24th November 2023
We had a visit from some very helpful 'elves' this week who started the process of transforming the school into a Christmas grotto. The trees and decorations are looking magnificent and have greatly benefitted from some expert dressing, all ready for the Christmas Fair next Friday. An enormous thanks to the Social Committee as always.
In preparation for the Christmas Fair, the children were invited to wear their own clothes today in return for a bottle for the tombola. If you didn't manage to bring one today, we would be very grateful for any further donations next week and thank you for all the bottles brought in so far. The tombola is always a very popular stall and, for the lucky winners, a great way to economically stock up on the Christmas drinks!
Also on the Christmas theme, many thanks for all the donations of gifts for our Wood Mission Street collection - a charity which supports struggling families across the North West. Our School Council has been heading this very worthwhile scheme to provide gifts to children who might otherwise receive nothing on Christmas Day - a sombre reminder of how difficult life is for many people.
With only three weeks to go until the end of term, there is so much to fit in and enjoy - it is always such an exciting time in school! A heartfelt thanks for supporting the school and all the various initiatives, not just with your generous donations, but with your presence at the events and occasions to come - it is truly appreciated.
