From The Head - Friday 21st June 2024
We have reached the point in the year where we are ticking off final events and going through a series of farewells as we conclude this year and look ahead to the next.
Over the past couple of weeks, there have been a series of transition meetings in preparation for the children moving to their next class. It is always a time of mixed emotions as it is exciting to move on to new challenges and adventures, yet a little sad that we have to say our good-byes. However, the bonds that have been formed and the memories that have been made will abide.
There were lots of memories made last night in our final showing of Oliver which was simply stupendous. The children rightly received a standing ovation for their stellar performance which would have put the West End to shame! There were lots of very proud, emotional parents and staff in the audience who thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent entertainment.
A similar theme and response continued this morning in Reception's assembly where they looked back over their achievements this year and everything they have loved doing. The children have come such a long way and were impressively poised and confident in their delivery of their lines - great work, Reception! It was also lovely to have some Pre-Reception join us in the hall and experience main school assemblies ready for the new academic year.
To round off a very busy week, our wonderful Year 6 pupils had their leavers' pool party and had a whale of a time with the inflatables and friends - a very special time for them to remember. There are still two more weeks of fun, activities and events to come, and we will be making the most of every moment.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Julia Langford.
