From The Head - Friday 18th October 2024

Julia Langford, Headteacher of The Ryleys School, a private school in Alderley Edge, Cheshire

The first half term has been filled with activity, fun and productivity in all departments of the school. I am sure that reading the weekly newsletter shows just how much is covered within a week.

The Year 2 assembly on Space this morning was a lovely ending to this half term. We were thoroughly entertained by the children who took us through lots of facts about Space which were creatively presented and delivered perfectly. The finale was being treated to a rendition of Yellow - a wonderful conclusion to a super assembly.

The Early Years Department is always busy and active across the school site, enjoying the range of facilities, including trips to see Rufus, the guinea pig, playing in the outdoor area and running around on the astro. However, Pre-Schoolers ventured further afield today to the local park, making the most of some welcome October sunshine and enjoying an exciting adventure and an opportunity to explore their local area - a brilliant experience for all involved.

It is hard to believe that in a mere two weeks, we will be on the sprint towards Christmas and preparation for that period of time is already well underway. The Christmas Fair is one of the main events and an important fundraiser, so if you can support this in any way - setting up, running a stall or making do- nations - please let us know. We need you!

Have a wonderful and relaxing half term break, ready for one of the busiest half terms of the year!

Julia Langford.
