From The Head - Friday 14th February 2025

Julia Langford, Headteacher of The Ryleys School, a private school in Alderley Edge, Cheshire

While February half term may officially be the halfway point of the academic year, in reality we have already covered the longest part of it with only a mere 15 weeks of school to complete after this holiday - a very scary thought!

This week has featured some lovely events involving community, both internal school activities and ones in the broader sense. Early Years invited parents in for a joint junk modelling workshop which was thoroughly enjoyed by all while another group of Pre School children ventured out on the minibuses to make more deliveries to Hope Central Foodbank - such an important experience in learning to appreciate what happens in the wider world.

We also welcomed the local fire brigade into school for a fire safety workshop with Year 5 and hosted a bake off competition which had a brilliant response with some extremely impressive creations!

At The Ryleys School, a warm sense of community and belonging is a key feature of the overall experience and we love any opportunity to include parents in what we do, as well as engaging our local community outside of the school gates. Participation in community events helps to build stronger, vibrant partnerships and societies which in turns fosters a sense of inclusiveness and shared values.

Thank you for the contribution you make to our special school community and helping it to be such a happy and thriving place for the children to grow and learn in.

Have a wonderful half term holiday.

Julia Langford.
