Flying High
Our Year 2 pupils were thrilled to get up close to a fantastic helicopter and its pilot, Niamh W’s father, as it landed on The Ryleys School playing fields.
Pupils asked lots of questions and learnt that, unlike an aeroplane, a helicopter can fly straight up and down, sideways or backwards.
It can also spin around or hover motionless in the air. They also generate a lot of wind and are pretty noisy!
What an incredible opportunity for our pupils. Perhaps we’ve inspired a few pilots of the future.
